Kizito Amartey
Kizito Nii Amarh Amartey was born in Cape Coast in Ghana, in 1983 where he grew up and had his basic education. He obtained his BFA in Fine Art (Painting) in 2010 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana graduating with First Class Honors and having his National service as a teaching assistant at the same University. He later obtained MA in Management and Administration in 2016 at the University of Ghana – Business School, Legon, Accra, Ghana. He is an executive member of the Ghana Association of Visual Artists and is responsible for research and international relations. He had his first international exposure in Manhattan, NY, USA in 2008 where his works were shown at the ICEP exhibition. He also participated in the 18th international young artists festival/exhibition in Iran, representing Ghana and obtained an award for overall top Five – Outdoor painting category. Kizito has exhibited in various locations in and around Kumasi and including K.N.U.S.T, Museum, Kumasi Centre for National Culture, Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Accra, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra. Other joint exhibitions include Identity K.N.U.S.T, Kumasi, G.A.V.A/Iran annual exhibitions 2012-2015, The Creative Art show, Arfikiko, Accra, 2015, The Creative Art Show, Nubuke Foundation, Accra, 2016.
