CITI FM HERITAGE MONTH
Ghana Association of Visual Artists (GAVA) participated in CITI FM Heritage Month Art Festival held from 14th to 16th March, 2020 at the City Hall of Accra Metropolitan Assembly at Kinbu, Accra.
By way of promoting the event, eight members of the Association were interviewed on the CITI FM Morning Show prior to the programme.
The following were lined up for the 3 day event

SYMPOSIUM
The symposium took place on Thursday 14th March, 2020 after the Festival has been officially opened earlier in the day. Three speakers namely Mr. Amarkine Amartey, Dr. Bernard Akoi Jackson and Mr. Kwesi Ohene Ayeh spoke on the Theme: ‘Art in the construction of cultural identities’
ART EXHIBITION
An exhibition of paintings and sculpture took place at the forecourt of the Citi Hall. Participants included members of GAVA and other individual artists.
ACCRA’S BIGGEST CANVAS
A canvalls measuring 10 feet by 30 feet, dubbed ‘Accra’s biggest CANVALLS’ was mounted, where the general public was engaged to paint their impressions on the theme ‘The Accra we love and want’
LIVE PAINTINGS
Artists from GAVA and other individual artists participated over the three-day event. Patrons had the opportunity to interact with the artists
